Honeymoon Checklist

Honeymoon Checklist
No matter where you'll be traveling as newlyweds, be sure to line up the details before you depart!

Set your honeymoon budget.
Discuss your travel desires and destination ideas.
Find a travel agent and get estimates.
If the price tag for your dream trip is a bit too high, think of ways to save money. Investigate frequent flier programs and search the Internet for special offers.
Reserve your airline tickets and/or cruise tickets.
Research hotels, get room rates and availability and reserve your room.
Reserve a rental car.
Consider learning important key-phrases of a foreign language if you're traveling abroad.
Research recommended and required vaccinations for your destination.
Apply for your passport if necessary.
Apply for a credit card if necessary.
Get travel insurance if necessary. Research travel insurance offered by your credit cards, travel agent or an independent agency.
Research and schedule tours, entertainment tickets, a restaurant table and any other endeavor requiring an advance reservation.
Make a packing list and a shopping list.
Re-confirm all reservations.
Get airline tickets and all necessary vouchers. Read the materials carefully for accuracy.
Buy traveler's checks.
Ask the Post Office to hold your mail.
Postpone your newspaper delivery.
Photocopy your passports, credit cards, insurance, traveler's checks numbers and wills. Give a set to your parents and put a set in your luggage.
Re-confirm overseas flights.
Buy books and magazines for the trip.
Be sure to remember your prescription medicines (in their original containers). Also write down the names and phone numbers of your medical providers.
Make a list of friends and relatives (and their addresses) to whom you may send postcards.
Make arrangements for travel to and from the airport.
Leave a copy of your itinerary and a set of house keys with a neighbor or close friend in case of an emergency.
Water your plants, dispose of perishable food and be sure your home is prepared for your departure.
Label your luggage on both the inside and the outside with your name, hotel address and phone number.
Lock your luggage.
Exchange about $50 into small bills in the currency of the country you'll be visiting.
Have fun!
