What's Next
Tell your families and friends the great news! If possible, share the news with your parents in person. It is then a good idea for your parents to get acquainted (if they arenāt already).

Traditionally the groom's parents invite the bride's parents for drinks, dinner or some other meeting. You and your fiance can also arrange a meeting or get-together.

You should also start considering who you would like in your wedding party or to have a special role in your ceremony. You can ask when you announce your engagement or at a later date. Remember to be clear about their duties and any cost involved.

Another joy of engagement is the parties or celebrations that may take place. The bride's parents have the option of hosting the first party, but it is possible that the groom's parents and even the bride and groom may want to host a get-together.
